  1. I’m painting a battle scene of the 11th US Infantry at Rose Wood in Gettysburg for the 16th Infantry Regiment Association. I completed a piece last year for the fundraiser which is posted on my FB site along with pieces I’ve done.

    • Ed,

The best advice I can give you is to study the artwork of such renowned Civil War artists as Don Troiani, Mort Kunstler, Dale Gallon, and John Strain. Each has a different style, but all show accurate and intriguing depictions of the men and dress of that time. Troiani and Kunstler are particularly meticulous in their exact depiction of the uniforms and arms of each unit depicted at that particular time in the war. You can Google CW artists or CW art to see free examples or go to the artist’s websites.

  2. Do you review historical fiction books relating to the time after the Civil War? My books Local Honey and Deep South Secrets are set in Montgomery and Choctaw counties in Mississippi. They are about some young girls who find Confederate gold hidden in a tunnel near a cemetery. Both are available on amazon.com.

    • I do read some historical fiction and have reviewed books by Jeff Shaara and Ralph Peters. These are not likely books that I would seek out and purchase, but if you would like to send me a copy, I”l be glad to read them and we’ll go from there.

  3. You missed both the ACWA.org and NCWA1863.org in Northern California!
